In einer Weltpremiere zeigt Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge den neuen Caddy California. Bis in den letzten Winkel neu gedacht, neu entwickelt und neu designt \u2013 und dabei doch unverkennbar der Nachfolger des multifunktionalen Caddy Beach. Ein Crossover aus kompaktem Van und clever konzipiertem Camper. Sein neuer Name ist Programm: California. Er steht f\u00fcr innovative Detaill\u00f6sungen, die den California als T3, T4, T5, T6 und T6.1 zum erfolgreichsten Reisemobil der Welt machten. 2019 transferierte Volkswagen Nutzfahrzeuge die California-Philosophie des \u201eMultitools\u201c mit dem Grand California in die Klasse des gro\u00dfen Crafter. 2020 deb\u00fctiert nun im Segment der kompakten Reisemobile der neue Caddy California. Damit gibt es fortan drei California \u2013 eine Camper-Familie f\u00fcr jedes Budget, jede Reise und jedes Abenteuer.<\/div>\n

Der Caddy California basiert auf der neuen, f\u00fcnften Caddy-Generation. Er ist damit das erste Reisemobil, das die konstruktiven Vorteile des Modularen Querbaukasten (MQB) nutzt: neuste Technologien und ein Plus an Raum. Auf den Markt kommen wird der 4.501 mm lange Caddy California noch 2020; eine Version mit verl\u00e4ngertem Radstand folgt 2021 (L\u00e4nge: 4.853 mm). Der Fond \u00fcberzeugt mit einer bis in den letzten Winkel durchdachten Camper-Ausstattung. Dazu geh\u00f6rt ein neues ausklappbares Bett. Die Konstruktion mit Tellerfedern und hochwertiger Matratze bietet den gleichen guten Schlafkomfort wie die Betten im T6.1 California und Grand California. Mit 1.980 x 1.070 mm ist das Bett sehr gro\u00df. Zusammengefaltet, verk\u00fcrzt es sich auf ein Drittel und liegt kompakt \u00fcber dem Kofferraum. W\u00e4hrend beim Vorg\u00e4nger die zweite Sitzreihe Teil der Bettkonstruktion war, ist dies nun nicht mehr der Fall. Die Sitze der zweiten Reihe k\u00f6nnen deshalb vor der Reise mit wenigen Handgriffen ausgebaut werden. Damit steht im Caddy California auch in diesem Bereich deutlich mehr Stauraum zur Verf\u00fcgung.<\/p>\n

Neue Minik\u00fcche macht den kompakten Camper noch vielseitiger<\/strong><\/h4>\n

 <\/p>\n

Ein Novum, Highlight und Alleinstellungsmerkmal in dieser Camper-Klasse ist die optionale Minik\u00fcche des Caddy California. Angelenkt an der linken Laderaumwand unter dem Bett, ist sie bei ge\u00f6ffneter Heckklappe nach hinten ausziehbar. Die Heckklappe sch\u00fctzt so beim Kochen auch vor Regen; gleichzeitig ergibt sich durch die Nutzung hinter dem Fahrzeug ein optimaler Zugang bei voller Stehh\u00f6he. Die neue Minik\u00fcche besteht aus zwei Ausz\u00fcgen. Im oberen ist ein einflammiger Gaskocher inklusive Windschott und einer praktischen Ablage integriert. Der untere Auszug beinhaltet einen Besteckkasteneinsatz sowie weiteren Stauraum f\u00fcr Kochger\u00e4tschaften und Vorr\u00e4te. Im hinteren Bereich der K\u00fcche ist eine sicher abgeschlossene Box (mit Bodenentl\u00fcftung) f\u00fcr die Gasflasche (F\u00fcllgewicht ca. 1,85 kg) eingebaut. Hat der Caddy California die Minik\u00fcche an Bord, wird er mit einer Zulassung als Wohnmobil \u201egeadelt\u201c.<\/p>\n

Erstmals mit 1,4 m2<\/sup> gro\u00dfem Panoramadach<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Optional kann der Caddy California mit einem gro\u00dfen Panoramadach konfiguriert werden. Das 1,4 m2<\/sup> gro\u00dfe Glasdach erschlie\u00dft bei Nacht den Blick in die Sterne und flutet tags\u00fcber den Innenraum mit Licht. Weiterentwickelt hat VWN das praktische Stautaschensystem an den hinteren Seitenfenstern, das Utensilien mit einem Gewicht von bis zu f\u00fcnf Kilo je Seite aufnehmen kann. Ebenfalls weiter perfektioniert wurde das Verdunklungssystem aus hellen Stoffgardinen. In den Seitenscheiben vorn und in der Heckscheibe werden die neutral designten Gardinen wieder mit eingen\u00e4hten Magneten befestigt. Die Stautaschen verdunkeln indes die hinteren Seitenscheiben. Im Bereich der Windschutzscheibe und des Panoramadaches kommen parallel zu den Magneten weitere Befestigungselemente zum Einsatz.<\/p>\n

Clevere Detaill\u00f6sungen perfektionieren das Campen<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Neue Bel\u00fcftungs\u00f6ffnungen mit integriertem Fliegengitter f\u00fcr die Fahrer- und Beifahrert\u00fcr \u2013 sicher gehalten durch die Seitenscheiben und T\u00fcrrahmen \u2013 optimieren auf dem Campingplatz das Klima im Wohnraum. Ein neues System mit stufenlos dimmbaren LED-Spots sorgt mit seinem warmwei\u00dfen Licht f\u00fcr individuelle Helligkeit \u00fcber dem Bett; in der ge\u00f6ffneten Heckklappe erzeugen ebenfalls LEDs eine gute Lichtsituation. Zwei Campingst\u00fchle und ein Campingtisch \u2013 ebenso praktische wie leichte Klassiker \u2013 k\u00f6nnen schnell in einer neu konzipierten Tasche unter dem Bett verstaut werden.<\/p>\n

Neues Zeltsystem macht den Caddy California zum Familien-Camper<\/strong><\/h4>\n


\n<\/strong>Weiteres Novum: ein neues, modulares Zeltsystem1<\/sup>, das mit dem Caddy California verbunden wird. Es ist eine auch ohne den Caddy separat nutzbare, da freistehende Zeltanlage. Auf Wunsch kann das Zelt um eine zus\u00e4tzliche Schlafkabine erweitert werden. Sie vergr\u00f6\u00dfert den Wohnraum derart, dass eine Familie samt Campingausr\u00fcstung ausreichend Raum auf dem Stellplatz hat. Zwei Personen schlafen in diesem Fall im Caddy California, zwei im neuen Zelt. Dank \u201eLuftgest\u00e4nge\u201c ist es z\u00fcgig und denkbar einfach aufgebaut. Gro\u00dfe Fensterfl\u00e4chen \u2013 die sich auch komplett \u00f6ffnen lassen \u2013 sorgen tags\u00fcber f\u00fcr sehr viel Helligkeit.<\/p>\n

Hightech-Infotainment der neuesten Generation<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Dank des MQB halten neue Technologien ihren Einzug in die Baureihe. Die interaktiven Schnittstellen zum Fahrer und Beifahrer bilden zum Beispiel das neue \u201eDigital Cockpit\u201c (optional volldigitale Instrumente) und die bis zu 10,0 Zoll gro\u00dfen Radio- und Infotainmentsysteme. In der Fusion aus \u201eDigital Cockpit\u201c und dem 10-Zoll-Top-Navigationssystem \u201eDiscover Pro\u201c entsteht dabei eine neue, digitale Landschaft der Anzeigen- und Bedienelemente: das \u201eInnovision Cockpit\u201c. \u00dcber eine Online-Connectivity-Unit (OCU) mit integrierter eSIM k\u00f6nnen die Infotainmentsysteme auf die mobilen Online-Dienste und Funktionen von \u201eVolkswagen We\u201c zugreifen. Der neue Caddy California ist somit \u201ealways on\u201c.<\/p>\n

Neue App \u201eCalifornia on Tour\u201c als praktische Reisebegleitung<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Zur digitalen Servicewelt des Caddy California passt die neue, kostenlose App \u201eCalifornia on Tour\u201c. Die f\u00fcr Apple- und Android-Smartphones entwickelte App liefert unter anderem Infos zu Camping- und Stellpl\u00e4tzen, Camping-Gesch\u00e4ften, Wasser- und Entsorgungsstationen, verschiedensten Freizeitaktivit\u00e4ten (wie Sehensw\u00fcrdigkeiten oder dem Fahrradverleih) oder zur Technik des Caddy California. Die App kann in Verbindung mit allen VWN-Reisemobilen genutzt werden.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Assistiertes Fahren und Rangieren<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Zu den neuen Technologie-Highlights des Caddy California geh\u00f6ren progressive Assistenzsysteme wie der \u201eTravel Assist\u201c \u2013 ein System zum teilautomatisierten Fahren \u00fcber den gesamten Geschwindigkeitsbereich. Ebenso innovativ: der \u201eTrailer Assist\u201c f\u00fcr das teilautomatisierte und deshalb kinderleichte Rangieren mit einem Anh\u00e4nger. Insgesamt 19 verschiedene Assistenzsysteme werden f\u00fcr den Caddy California zur Verf\u00fcgung stehen.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Nachthaltige Motoren und optionaler Allradantrieb<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Besonders nachhaltig sind die neuen Turbodieselmotoren (TDI) des Caddy California. Dank eines doppelten SCR-Katalysators und einer damit realisierten doppelten AdBlue-Einspritzung \u2013 dem sogenannten Twindosing \u2013 werden die Stickoxid-Emissionen (NOx) im Vergleich zum Vorg\u00e4nger signifikant reduziert. Zur Markteinf\u00fchrung wird es die TDI-Motoren in zwei Leistungsstufen mit 55 kW (75 PS) und 90 kW (122 PS) geben. Die Effizienz der TDI-Motoren wird durch das neue Exterieur-Design des Caddy California weiter verbessert. Hintergrund: Der cw-Wert (Vorg\u00e4nger: 0,33) konnte auf 0,30 gesenkt werden \u2013 Benchmark in dieser Fahrzeuggattung. Wichtig f\u00fcr alle, die auch abseits asphaltierter Pfade campen m\u00f6chten: Wie schon den Caddy Beach, so wird es auch den Caddy California alternativ zum serienm\u00e4\u00dfigen Frontantrieb wieder mit Allradantrieb (4MOTION) geben.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
